When looking for the perfect picnic spot, I have a few specific criteria: a picnic table, beautiful scenery, a location near water, some shade, and some privacy.
I’ve included Google Maps links to each picnic table location to help you find the right place. However, please note that tables can be moved or even removed. I would love to hear about your favorite spots in the comments below.

According to Wikipedia, the store, established by Benjamin Forman in the early 1900s, used to be the largest between New York and Chicago. However, it closed down in 1994. B. 18. Honeoye Lake Overlook
Honeoye
This is a popular stopping point on US-20A with a great view of Honeoye Lake.
NOTE: In July, the hillside is covered in Wild Parsnip. It looks like a yellow Queen Anne’s Lace, but it is poisonous and invasive. The plant produces a compound that causes intense, localized burning, rash, severe blistering, and discoloration on sunny days when it comes into contact with the skin. This is not an allergic reaction; it is a chemical burn brought on by increased skin sensitivity to sunlight. Please do not attempt to make a bouquet with it! Things to think about as you enjoy your picnic.
